FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Product Details

Are your Microgreens organic?
Yes, all of our seeds and our soil are EU Organic ECO Certified. The entire cultivation process is organic, with no pesticides, chemicals, or GMOs.

What is the size and weight of each tray?
Each tray measures 10x15x5cm (W x L x H), with a total weight ranging from 120 to 260 grams.

2. Microgreens Care

Where should I place the living tray and how much light does it need?
Place the tray on your kitchen countertop or a surface with indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight and extreme humidity. Ambient light is sufficient. Short sunlight sessions work, but avoid continuous exposure to prevent leaf burn. Refrigeration is not recommended for living trays.

How should I water my living tray?
Keep the soil well-moistened. Bottom water once a day in the morning - place tray in a shallow plate or container, add 60-90ml water on the container, ensuring that the soil in the tray is adequately moist but not soggy. Avoid top watering to prevent mold on leaves.

3. Harvesting and Storing Microgreens

How do I harvest Microgreens from the tray?
Use scissors or a sharp knife 2cm from the soil line. Rinse and dry. For optimal taste, consume right away after harvesting. Microgreens won't regrow.

How to eat Microgreens?
Enjoy Microgreens at their freshest by consuming them raw. Incorporate them into your meals- sprinkle them on soups, salads, sandwiches, or any dish for a nutritious boost.

Can I refrigerate or freeze my Microgreens?
Refrigerating living trays is not advised. However, for harvested Microgreens, pat them dry and store in an airtight container with a paper towel in the refrigerator. Consume within 3 days for the best freshness. Freezing Microgreens is effective for preserving their nutritional content, but it compromises their texture. It's a suitable choice if you intend to incorporate them into a smoothie.

4. Microgreens Shelf-life

How long are Microgreens good to eat?
For optimal nutritional content and taste, it's recommended to consume Microgreens within 3 days after delivery. Beyond this period, new leaves emerge, indicating the transition from the Microgreens stage to the normal growth stage. You can still eat them, but their nutritional value are reduced, and they won't taste the same.

When do Microgreens cease to be Microgreens?
Microgreens retain their classification until the emergence of new leaves, known as true leaves. Once true leaves appear, the Microgreen stage concludes, and the plant enters the normal growth phase.
